‘Home Sweet Home’ examines exaggerated ideas of homeland and belonging. An NFL jersey display case contains a patriotic “Heimatliebe Deutschland” T-shirt and hoodie, garments commonly used to signal national identification. Referencing both sports culture and national symbolism, the installation brings together visual languages of loyalty, pride, and collective identity.

Presented behind glass, these items are detached from everyday use and turned into symbols. What appears as harmless patriotism reveals itself as a constructed form of national pride, one that relies on simplified images of Heimat. The work reflects on how such symbols can reinforce boundaries, shaping ideas of who belongs and who does not.
