“Foreign Congress” engages with African symbolism, drawing from the Nsibidi language to reflect on community, connection, and its gradual dissolution. The piece contrasts the fragmentation of communal bonds in Western contexts with the resilience of solidarity in many African regions.
Through tactile and symbolic elements, the installation evokes heritage, presence, and the spaces between belonging and separation. In doing so, it explores how collective identity is sustained or eroded across cultural landscapes and the forces that determine its survival.
