‘foreign congress’ engages with African symbolism, drawing from the Nsibidi language to reflect on community and its dissolution. It contrasts the fragmentation of communal bonds in Western contexts with the resilience of solidarity in many African regions. The installation uses tactile and symbolic elements to evoke heritage, presence, and the spaces between belonging and separation. Through this, it investigates how collective identity is sustained or eroded across cultural landscapes, and what forces determine its survival.
