Background Noise
Video

time - 4:57 min

‘Background Noise’ explores the construction of perfection as an image shaped by repetition and normalization. The video draws on visual fragments of the Caucasian happy family as a dominant cultural ideal, circulating across media, advertising, and domestic representation. Within these images, whiteness appears as a smooth and unmarked surface, associated with purity, stability, and coherence.

The work focuses on how this visual language is produced and sustained through continuous exposure and subtle repetition. By assembling and shifting these references, *Background Noise* highlights the mechanisms through which ideals of family, beauty, and belonging are formed, and how they persist as seemingly natural images within everyday perception.
